Day 1
Rendezvous at Bodrum-Milas airport
We rendezvous in the late early afternoon at the Bodrum-Milas airport and journey onwards to our accommodation for the night in Akyaka.
Day 2
Cadyanda and Fethiye
We drive through pine forests and climb high into the mountains to reach the forgotten city of Cadyanda. There are extensive remains, including a stadium, a theatre, baths, agora and several temples.
In the afternoon, we continue our journey to Fethiye – the ancient Telmessos – which will be our base for the next two nights.

Day 3
The Lycian coast
We spend the whole day exploring the Lycian coast, including a visit to the abandoned Greek village of Kaya Köyü. Known as Levissi to the Greeks it was abandoned in the population exchanges of 1923 and has remained a ghost-town ever since. It was made famous as the setting of Louis de Berniere’s novel Birds without Wings.
In the afternoon we talk a walk through the pine forest to Af Kule – the remains of an abandoned monastery with spectacular views over the ocean.

Day 4
Tlos, Saklıkent & Xanthos
We depart Fethiye and drive into the hills for the ancient Lycian city of Tlos. This impressive site boasts a fine acropolis, theatre and stadium.
In the late morning, we continue our journey, stopping off at the breathtaking gorge at Saklıkent before moving on to the wonderfully sited city of Xanthos.
Xanthos was the centre of culture and commerce for the Lycians and was mentioned by both Greek and Roman writers. In the late afternoon we continue our journey to Kalkan

Day 5
Myra & Patara
In Lycian times, Patara was a flourishing maritime and commercial city, located as it was on the shores of the Lycian coast. Saint Nicholas was born in the town in 270, and lived most of his life in the nearby town of Myra – the location of our visit in the afternoon.
Known now as the home of St Nicholas, Myra is nevertheless an impressive archaeological site in its own rite. There are some magnificent rock tombs cut into the cliffs above the site and the theatre is one of the most complete in Lycia.

Day 6
Arykanda & Termessos
Today our journey takes us through the heart of the Taurus mountains, visiting two spectacular archaeological sites.
Arykanda is little-visited, but is one of the most tranquil of all the sites in Lycia. Termessos, on the other hand, is well known and a trek through the forests brings you to one of the most awe-inspiring sites for a theatre in the ancient world.
In the afternoon, we continue our journey to Antalya.

Perge & Aspendos
Quite rightly feted as the most impressive and best-preserved Roman theatres anywhere, both Aspendos and Perge make a fitting awe-inspiring finale to our visit through the lands of Lycia.

Full day in Antalya
We stay in the kale area of Antalya and although the city is now a sprawling metropolis, the kale area is surprisingly quiet and tranquil. we have the full day to explore its narrow streets and to relax by the harbour.

Transfers to Antalya airport and departure.
